The main components of thermal paper include the following:
1.Thermal sensitive coating:
This is the key part of thermal paper, usually composed of thermal sensitive chemicals. The most common thermal sensitive coating is made by mixing colorless dyes (usually Le Chatelier dyes) and color developing agents (such as acidic compounds). When thermal paper is heated by a heat source (such as the print head of a thermal printer), the dye and color developer in the coating react to produce dark images or text.
2.Paper substrate:
The paper substrate is the base layer of thermal paper, usually made of high-quality wood pulp paper or synthetic fiber paper. This layer of paper needs to have a certain strength and stability to support the thermal sensitive coating and ensure clear printing results.
3.Adhesive:
Adhesive is used to firmly fix the thermosensitive coating on the paper substrate, ensuring that the coating is not easily peeled off or detached. Common adhesives include polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or acrylic compounds.
4.additive:
In order to improve the performance of thermal paper, some auxiliary materials may be added, such as anti UV agents (to delay the fading of thermal paper), anti-static agents (to prevent static interference with printing effects), plasticizers (to improve the flexibility of coatings), etc.
These components work together to give thermal paper unique printing characteristics, without the need for ink or ribbon, relying on the thermal print head to directly heat and produce images.
